THE FINALISTS DIRECTORY
This was my entry for a book cover design competition.
The idea was to visualize the theme of guidance as the publication guides graduates on their career paths, pointing out opportunities which they may not have been aware of. A rounded typeface was chosen so as to appear friendlier and more informal. It expresses the feeling that the Directory is there to help graduates and students on a personal basis.
The overall layout follows a clean modern style which alludes to modern career paths such as media, business, manufacturing, etc. In contrast, the antiquated pictograms reference more traditional careers such as crafts, teaching, etc.
