SLEEP THIEVES LOGOTYPE
I designed this logo with the aim of trying to communicate the band's individual sound. A rounded typeface was used to express the accessible pop-rooted nature of the music. However the typeface also has a cold futuristic quality which defines the band's reliance on digital synthesizer sounds and programmed beats. I chose an italic font to convey the frenetic driving rhythms which the band are known for. I wanted to create a minimal, versatile logo which would still be instantly recognisable as belonging to the band. In order to make the logotype more individual, the first letter of each word is slightly enlarged and its baseline lowered. The type is also custom kerned to make the logotype more cohesive.
